Back up EXTENDER

Divide your highlines according to SPLIT TECHNOLOGY. Customize your back up EXTENDER:

  • DYNEEMA rope 8 mm - 36 kN: only 25 g/m and it can also be used as an ultralight sling;
  • Poliester webbing PLASMA - 42 kN: 76 g/m, very strong with 2 eye loop at extremities.

Adjust your backup lenght. We advice for a medium stretch webbing 6% at 10 kN to select:

  • 3 m: for SPLIT 50 m;
  • 5 m: for SPLIT 100 m.

If your mainline webbing is really elastic like NYLOVE or NOVA, you should make it longer, 5 m for SPLIT 50 m, and 7 m for SPLIT 100m.

Back up EXTENDER in SPLIT TECNOLOGY

The SPLIT TECNOLOGY allow you to divide highlines by connecting regulary the backup to the mainline. This reduce the heigh of fall in case of accident.

The technology also make possible to spread a complete highline setup into many backpacks.

The true SPLIT TECNOLOGY

To create the real SPLIT TECNOLOGY consider to add to your BACKUP EXTENDER:

A new standard for highlining, SPLIT50 and SPLIT100

Thanks to SPLIT TECNOLOGY, you will always use the sames lenghts of webbing strands: 50 or 100 m whatever they are used for mainline or backup.

The Poliester webbing PLASMA EXTENDER is available in lengths of 3, 5 or 7m.

The DYNEEMA ROPE EXTENDER is available in lenghts 3 or 5m and can be divided by two, simply folding it in half. So you can have lengths: 5m / 2,5m or 3m / 1.5m.

Is 3 meter extender good for my NYLOVE webbing SPLIT50?

3 m EXTENDER is equal to 6% of 50 m and this is not enough for a NYLOVE backup. The right choice is 5 m EXTENDER for a SPLIT50 with NYLOVE backup.

Elastic lines moves in lenght with time. The mainline will become longer due to tension and the backup line will become shorter due to no tension.

If this happen, with SPLIT TECNOLOGY, you can simply switch main and backup in order to always have the backup longer than the main.
