Get Carried Away by the Rhythm of the REGGAE!

The Reggae webbing is a historical reference in our slackline world. Designed with a tubular polyester weave, it offers superior comfort and optimised stretch, making it the ideal solution for versatile and dynamic practice in the park or in heights.

A major asset according to users: Its absolute soft touch below your feet and its special stretchy behaviour, position it as a best choice for managing the "surf," controlled bounces, and static tricks (notably the drop knee). Its texture makes it particularly pleasant for barefoot practice.

Key features: COMFORT AND FLEXIBILITY

This REGGAE webbing distinguishes itself with features that make it a versatile webbing highly appreciated for its feel. It is particularly soft for the soles of the feet, a decisive advantage for barefoot slackline sessions but also if determined to do shoulder stand or similar tricks, where repetitive positions can hurt easily your body and skin. The REGGAE is pleasant and kind to your body and helps to advance quicker with your special practice.

With its lightness and flexibility, the Reggae is also easy to carry and set up, whether for short use or on medium-length lines. Its elasticity guarantees a pleasant and predictable feel.

Its Made in France manufacturing attests to a commitment to quality and durability of the equipment.

TECHNICAL SPECS AND STRENGTH

The fine weave of this 25 mm webbing ensures excellent tension management for comfort, and very appreciated abrasion resistance.

With a standard width, the REGGAE is compatible with all our weblocks.

For anchoring, it is recommended to use shackles and slings suitable for the Working Load Limit (7 kN).

Stretch under Load:

  • 7.8% at 7 kN
  • 10% at 10 kN
  • 14% at 15 kN

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Perfect for sessions up to 35 m with a ratchet, or up to 50 m with a primitive setup.
  • Beyond that, use a pulley system for easier tensioning.
  • Walk barefoot for maximum comfort.
  • If wet, dry your webbing away from UV exposure. Clean with fresh water if muddy or salty.
  • The kit can stay tensioned for up to 2-3 days max. Release after use to extend its life.
  • Store clean and dry — as you would for any textile equipment.

What is the difference between WEBBING BY THE METER, SPLIT50 and SPLIT100?

If you already have a regular training spot, with a predefined length for line installation, i.e. 30, 45, or 70 m, you can choose to purchase the webbing BY THE METER by selecting the desired length (quantity 33 = 33m), and if necessary, you can purchase a SEWN LOOP for one or both ends separately.

Otherwise you can choose the standard segment SPLITS of 50 or 100 m length.

IMPORTANT SAFETY CHECK - Perform Periodically

Inspect your setup before each session

The Reggae is a webbing with an MBS greater than 20 kN for strong cyclic use. It is therefore ESSENTIAL to properly check the line status before each session.

Exposure to sunlight (UV rays)

Exposure to the sun's UV rays significantly reduces the strength of tubular nylon/polyester webbings. For a long lifespan of your webbing, try to avoid permanent installations or leaving your Reggae line set up for too long on sunny days.

When to retire the webbing from use?

If one or more of the following conditions occur, immediately stop using your line (especially for highlining). Contact us if in doubt.

  • Damage to the webbing fibers due to abrasion from excessive use or other causes;
  • Stiffness of the webbing when not under tension. If you can hold 30 or 50 cm of line horizontally without ANY tension, it is best to retire it completely, as it has very likely not only lost its main characteristics but has also suffered a significant reduction in strength;

WARNING! This is only a partial list. It is essential to carefully read the manual and user instructions and retire the line or contact the manufacturer as soon as signs of degradation appear.

What is the 3 SIGMA MBS in the product data sheet?

Hi! Does the 50 meter longline kit come with webbing that has 2 sewn loops? Thanks! SIGMA is an element of statistical calculations, which allows to display a products’ guaranteed strength value throughout its manufacturing process. Therefore, it is related to product safety.

During the testing process, the greater the differences between the 10 recorded values, the higher turns out the sigma value.

For example, for 10 carabiners tested, their ten recorded values are usually different and not the exact same:

    24,9 | 25,9 | 26,2 | 25,6 | 25,8 | 24,7 | 25,5 | 24,7 | 26,0 | 25,7 kN

So which value to take into account to display the MBS (Minimum Breaking Strength) value?

    We first calculate the average:

    (24,9 + 25,9 + 26,2 + 25,6 + 25,8 + 24,7 + 25,5 + 24,7 + 26,0 + 25,7) / 10 = 25,5 kN

    We then calculate the variance:

    24,9 - 25,5 = - 0,6    (-0,6)2 = 0,36

    25,9 - 25,5 = - 0,4    ( 0,4)2 = 0,16

...and so on for the 10 measured values.

    We add those 10 results:

    0,36 + 0,16 + 0,49 + 0,01 + 0,09 + 0,64 + 0,064 + 0,25 + 0,04 = 2,68

    And we create the average:

    2,68 / 10 = 0,268

The variance is even to : 0,268

SIGMA (standard deviation) = square root of 0,268 = 0,5176

The maximum value displayed on the carabiner would be:

    average of 10 carabiners = 25,5 kN

    SIGMA = - 0,5176

    ____________________________

    Displayed Value = 24,0724 kN

What you should know in particular about the 3 SIGMA safety margin?

We use the 3 SIGMA method to calculate the MBS.

We multiply the SIGMA for 3 (this is why it is called “3 SIGMA”) to boost the prudency in the MBS calculation.

Taking the 10 previous carabiners as an example:

The average of those 10 carabieners is 25,5kN

    3 SIGMA (3 x 0,5176) = - 1,5528

    _____________________________

    Displayed value = 23,0472 kN

Our choice aims to maximize the safety of our users while using our products.
