Stainless steel Bow Shackle

Forged from 316 stainless steel with high resistance to corrosion. Its omega shape and his smooth surface makes it a very universal connector in set-ups even under tri-load. The unlosable pin stays captive within the shackle body.

10 mm 50 kN 1 T WILL with CAPTIVE PIN: Recommended for lightweight Longline kits, compatible with all WebLocks;
12 mm 65 kN 1,5 T WLL with CAPTIVE PIN: Jaw opening >25 mm for SoftRelease, WebLock or Ratchets;
14 mm 90 kN 2,2 T WLL with CAPTIVE PIN: the strongest for Tricklines or Longlines under very high tension. Great for SoftRelease, WebLock or Ratches.

Stainless steel Bow Shackle

Our STAINLESS STEEL BOW SHAKLE is your universal connector for almost any SLACKLINE, TRICKLINE, HIGHLINE or LONGLINE activity.

Its bow shape allows you to use it for tri-loading situations and it includes a CAPTIVE PIN, once unscrewed, the unlosable pin stays blocked inside the shackle body. No more risks of losing or dropping it.

Stainless steel shackle into SOFT RELEASE

The bow shackle serves mostly between an anchor point (SLING linked to a tree) and a tensioning system (ratchet or pulley system).

The stainless steel has shiny and smooth surface, which prevents cuts, wear and damage on webbing or slings. Its surface allows you to use a webbing soft relase as you wrap a longline around the shackle, without being damaged at all.

Is the Shackle the proper link for tri-directional load: How do I use it?

Carabiners (aluminum especially) are NOT to be used for tri-loading under high tension! The shakle on the other hand is made for this kind of system, connecting a round sling with the ratchet, pulley system or a weblock.

If I do not have special forged high-load rings, can I use a carabiner?

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE A COMMON CARABINER: it is not designed to work in the highlining conditions and it’s not suitable for Highline. In fact, the carabiner nuts and gate would risk to break the line: the consequences could be tragic and fatal! Use only specific highlining equipment in the highlining section of our website are the safe solution to practice highlining!

rare to find type for a good price, but not perfect

12mm captive pin omega shackles are rare, and it is also not common to find WLL rated ones like these.
The captive mechanism is not as good as a Wichard shackle's, but they only have 10mm for a much higher price.
The pin is removable, if you keep twisting it in the fully open position, as my 3yo kid showed it to me. It usually stays in place if somebody does not try to disassemble it.
